Task
Crews use Porta-Band saws to cut pipe.
Exposure
This very limited space does not allow for a larger work bench on which to place the saw. In this situation, workers often place the tools on the floor requiring them to bend over repeatedly to pick the tool up and put it down and therefore exposing them to awkward posture and repetitive motion.
Intervention Process
This cradle made of scraps of unistrut provides the worker with a place to put the saw right next to the platform where it will be used and well within the neutral position to accommodate all workers, eliminating awkward posture and repetitive motion.
Materials
No cost for materials as it was made with scraps scheduled for disposal.
