Task

Using a hand held vacuum to clean the floors.

Exposure

Because of his height, worker is required to bend over while pushing standard vacuum wand back and forth over the floor to remove soil, exposing him to risk from awkward posture and repetitive motion.

Intervention

Worker put extension into the wand, allowing him to maintain a neutral posture of his back while completing the task. He was pleased with the elimination of back strain.
