Task

Air handling system upgrade with new blades.

Exposure

The fan must be moved out of the air handling unit to exchange the blades. The fan is heavy and awkward to move forcing the workers to forceful exertion and awkward postures.

Intervention

The foreman designed a moveable rack that assists them in moving the fan out of the unit and allows it to be placed back without any lifting of the fan by the workers.

Material

Materials can be purchased off-the-shelf. The design and fabrication hours contributed to most of the cost.
